Our Story
Life Science Law was founded in 2015 by Wendy Lloyd-Goodwin, a leading life sciences legal expert, who spotted a need for a consultancy service from lawyers and compliance professionals with life science and pharmaceutical industry experience.
Having spent over 20 years at a number of leading pharmaceutical companies, where she built in-house legal and compliance teams, with a great reputation for providing proactive support to the business, she knows what it takes to create an effective department.
During her tenure as an in-house general counsel, Wendy saw first-hand the challenges of landing in a role without the right team to support her in addressing business priorities and challenges. It was difficult to obtain lawyers with the right niche level of industry expertise quickly and obtaining ad-hoc project based, or interim support from lawyers with industry expertise which could be ramped up and down as and when needed just didn’t exist.

Type & Level of Support
Ad-Hoc/Hourly
Like a traditional legal practice, we offer hourly rates, against which we record our time and invoice accordingly.
Project Based
For those projects you do not have capacity to support in-house, or the right level of expertise, we provide consultants aligned to that need for an agreed budget. (e.g fixed number of hours, fee, rate or timeline.)
Subscription
We can provide dedicated consultants for a defined number of hours per week, which can be flexed up or down as demand changes. This is often the preferred approach if you do not have an in-house legal team, you have a head-count freeze, or you need support for a regular defined number of hours/days across the week to meet business demand.
Interim
If you have a vacancy within their team due to attrition, maternity, paternity, ill health etc… and need temporary support to fill a gap, we can provide consultants on an interim/secondment basis. This support can be full time, part time, or for a defined number of hours across the week. We ensure IR35 is assessed and the arrangement is structured accordingly. Once the consultant is appointed, they will form part of the team, taking instructions directly from you.
